A three-day nationwide bank strike has been called for September 28, 29 and 30, 2026, which may affect branch-based banking services across India. Several banks have advised customers to complete important transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience.
Customers who need services such as cash deposits or withdrawals, cheque-related work, account services and other branch-assisted transactions should consider completing them before the strike period. Online and mobile banking, UPI and ATMs are generally expected to remain available, although specific services may vary by bank.
To reduce disruption, the government has also announced that public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks will operate normally on Sunday, September 27, ahead of the proposed strike.
Customers are therefore advised to plan their essential banking needs in advance and use digital banking facilities for routine transactions during the strike period.
